For employee data processed through our platform, Reliatime acts as a data processor on behalf of our business customers (the data controllers). Employees do not have direct accounts or relationships with Reliatime.
Reliatime, LLC ("Reliatime," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our software-as-a-service platform and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Reliatime, LLC is the data controller for customer account information and acts as a data processor for employee data processed on behalf of our customers.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Name, email address, company name, phone number, and billing information
- Device Data: Information about time and attendance devices you manage through our platform
- User Content: Information you upload, store, or process through the Service, including but not limited to employee records, time and attendance data, device logs, device configurations, and other operational data related to your use of the platform.
- Communications: Information in your communications with us for support or other inquiries
- Biometric Information: Fingerprints, facial geometry, voiceprints, hand scans, retina scans, and other biometric identifiers collected for employee authentication and data synchronization across devices.

- Usage Data: How you interact with our Service, features used, and performance metrics
- Device Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers
- Cookies and Tracking: We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance functionality and analyze usage. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings.

7. Biometric Information Privacy
Collection and Use: We store biometric identifiers (fingerprints, facial geometry, voiceprints, hand scans, retina scans) to synchronize employee authentication data across time and attendance devices. This data is stored at the direction of our business customers who are responsible for managing retention periods in compliance with applicable laws including BIPA's requirements.
State-Specific Biometric Privacy Rights
Illinois Residents (BIPA): Illinois law requires specific protections for biometric data. We provide written notice of our biometric data collection practices and retention policies. Your employer must obtain your written consent before enrolling your biometric information. Violations may result in $1,000-$5,000 penalties per violation.
Texas and Washington Residents: Similar biometric privacy protections apply under state law.
All States: We never sell, lease, trade, or profit from biometric information.
Biometric Data Retention and Security
- Our business customers control biometric data retention and deletion
- Customers must comply with applicable retention limits under BIPA and other laws
- All biometric data is deleted within 30 days when a customer account is terminated
- We implement enhanced security measures including encryption at rest and in transit
- Access to biometric data is restricted to authorized personnel only
- We maintain audit trails of all biometric data access and distribution
Employee Data Subject Rights
Employees whose biometric data is processed through our platform may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of their information under applicable privacy laws. Since employees do not have direct accounts with Reliatime, they must contact their employer to exercise these rights. The employer will coordinate with Reliatime as needed to fulfill valid requests. In Illinois, employees may withdraw consent for biometric processing where legally permitted.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We use Standard Contractual Clauses and other appropriate safeguards for international transfers as required by applicable law.
9. Third-Party Services
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for individuals under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it.
11. U.S. State Privacy Rights
California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including:
- Know what personal information is collected
- Know whether personal information is sold or disclosed
- Say no to the sale of personal information
- Equal service and price, even if you exercise your privacy rights

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date." We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Terms of Service, including its dispute resolution provisions.
